Install issue

Greetings,
I was trying to update iTunes last night, and my internet connection died during the installation process. Now, when I try to update, Software Update, without downloading anything (since the update has been downloaded, though not installed?) reports that the update cannot be installed, with this error message: "A networking error has occurred: Cannot open file (-3001). Make sure you can connect to the Internet, then try again."
I'm guessing I need to delete something which has gotten corrupted by virtue of the internet failure during installation. Any ideas?

You need to delete the iTunes receipt. This is what tells the installer that the app has already been installed.
 
OK - found the /Library/Receipts/ folder, and deleted the iTunes receipts. Still getting the same error message.
