Install new hard drive?

I was wondering if I could use my system restore cd to setup OS 8.5.1 on my imac rev.D 333 mhz? The hard drive is failing and this is the only cd set (the original set that came with the imac) and the only mac I have.

If they're the disks that came with the machine, they should work.

Why would you reinstall a system on a failing hard drive?

Actually I wanted to install on a completely new hard drive... Sorry for the confusion

To Make sure here is my situation:

I want to install a completely new 20 gb hard drive in my imac 333. Can I use the original system restore cd's that came with the iMac to set up the drive and install the OS which is actually OS 8.5.1?

YES!

Remember you'll need to format the hard drive while you install the OS.
