Hello
I hope some one may have any insight to this problem. I have an ibook g4, 1.33ghz with 512mb ram. The system was having issues so I tried to re-load the operating system but each time when I get to the beginning of the install I get this message: "the installer could not validate the contents of the "basesystem""
What I have tried:
1. Used a different OSX CD to make sure it was ok (retail version).
2. Tried booting from a firewire drive for the install
3. cleared the nvram and pram
4. used disk utility to verify and format the drive
Each time I go through the install I get the same thing. From what I have read is that it could be a memory issue. I took the ram out of this system and put it into another G4 and it works fine. Unfortunately that system does not have memory I can put into this one.
Should I order new memory for this G4 or could this be some other issue?
I appreciate any input you can give.
Scott
