Installation Problems With Stuffit Expander And Because Of....

I have an Emac 700MHZ. with 128 MG of ram at the moment.
I have Mac OS 10.2
My problem seems to be unique because I can't seem to get help in resolving this issue.
I CANNOT Install ANYTHING!
What happens is, I'll download some software off the web and the installer will appear on my desktop as a (BIN) DMG file and I'll double click on it for installation.
Then, what happens is really weird!
At first, my trusty Stuffit Expander application will start to install, then this EVIL USELESS " Disc Copy" will take over and then a new window will appear that says: " Disc copy unexpectedly terminated" and what happens is, it stops the installations and closes out Stuffit expander.
I need to resolve this.
Can You help me?

First: Repair permissions using Disk Utility.
Open Disk Utility (Hard Drive/Applications/Utilities/).
2. Select the second icon in the side bar at the left.
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Click Repair Disk Permissions.

Second: Go to System Preferences (light switch in dock) and select Software Update.
Make sure you are connected to the internet.
Have it check for updates.
Software Update will come up with a new window recommending the available updates. Select install.

When done you may need to restart the computer.
After restart go to Disk Utility and repair permissions again.

Now give one of your .dmg files a try out.
