installation problems

MOOF!
Hey yall, so ive hit a snag installing the darwin binaries on an old world machine. So I go through the installation process and restart it with an os9 cd so that I can select darwin as my primary boot os but when i select it, its like the computer doesnt even recognize my hd anymore. I have to rerun the darwin installer to get the comp to see the disk again. Any ideas on this... are there extra hoops to jump through? Do I have to actually have to have an os 9 partition there?

ps... nice to see a unix forum back :)

is this an OF old world machine? (some old world machines are, some arent. i somehow think that it must be if it is able to run darwin)

if it is, then try to set the boot device before you reboot. nvram boot-device hd:2,\\:tbxi, or something like that.

i can t think of any reason why the machine has to have OS9
