Installed 10.4.2 ... computer now freezes randomly

I just installed 10.4.2 the other day and now my g4 digital audio freezes randomly without any warning signs. The mouse and cursor freezes and the only way to reboot is to press the reset button. Does anybody have any ideas on how to fix this? TIA

Did you yet repair disk permissions? Does your system crash after anything particular? Maybe certain application or hardware such as USB devices. Did you add any new hardware?

Nothing has changed with my system. It just freezes randomly after using it for a few hours. What are repair disk permissions?

to repair go to disk utility click on the icon of your HD and on menu that appears click repair permissions.

When you say 'freeze', if you wait for 10-15 minutes, does it come back?

I'm chasing something similar, except my cursor still moves. It's the only thing that moves though. Then, after about 2 minutes, it comes back and everything is fine until the next time.
