Installer hangs in 10.4.7 on PowerPC

The mac installer is hanging everytime I try to install anything.
I tried to repair permissions from the OS CD, and also verified there was a tmp directory, but nothing is working. Any ideas?
 
What lombarke and MisterMe are trying to say is that you need to provide more information about your Mac and what exactly you're upgrading from. This will make it more easy to deduce the problem.
 
I just tried running the ITUNES 7 install from a downloaded package and this is the log I saw in /var/log:

AFter further research, it looks like my problem is actually an authentication one. Any app that requires my username and password hangs. Any suggetions? This happens with any of the profiles I have on this drive.
