Installing DVD Drive...

Hey... i have an iBook with a boring old CD-ROM! ... is it possible 2 swap this for an internal DVD-ROM?!
i searched @ apple Store, and no luck..!
Does that mean u can't swap them? :(

It's my understanding that even if you could find the drives, replacing the built-in cdrom is a non-trivial task (even by notebook standards). Probably the only way to get one is to become friends with an authorised repair person and get them to acquire one for you. While you're at it, you might as well get a combo-drive and get your new friend to install it for you. :)

Otherwise, no, it's not really possible to swap them. I don't even think Apple offers an option to do so....
 
Of course, you could always look at external firewire drives, if you REALLY want to.
