Installing KDE.. did I make a mistake?

So I have been playing around with fink and things and I decided to be adventurous and try to install KDE...

Lot of work it was, apt-get install bundle-kde and all...

Anyway.. when it installed it installed as 3.1.4-11.

FinkCommand says this is outdated and the recent vers (as well as fink site) is 3.1.4-21.

I am running Panther.. and as best as I can tell, http://fink.sourceforge.net/pdb/package.php/bundle-kde

says that I want the .21 version, but why did bundle-kde install as .11?

How can I fix this mistake? (or Update..) ?

Thanks

in your x11 application menu do you have name: kde and command: /sw/bin/startkde . This is what X11 needs to start the kde, my vanilla fink installation works just fine.
But does anyone know how to run a rootless version of kde? That is on that is in a window, that doesn't hijack the desktop.

To stop KDE from hijacking the desktop, there are options you can turn off in its control centre somewhere, IIRC. I'm running gnome right now so I can't check ... but there is an option somewhere.
