Installing OS 9 Disk Drivers on an OSX Drive without reformatting?

Is it possible to install OS 9 Disk Drivers on an OSX Drive without reformatting the drive(s)?
(they where not initially installed on this particular system)

If so, how?

I am looking for the same info.

Apple support seems to point to NO, but it seems like there should be some way.........
 
I asked one of the techs where I work and said that you have to format in order to put os 9 drivers on your HD.
 
I'm unsure on 10.2 Jaguar - but on 10.2 Server I also had to have an OS9 partition in order to keep the OS9 drivers - installing 10.2 Server would wipe them out.
I couldn't find an alternative to reinitializing the drive. :(
