Installing Os X 10.1.3

I currently run OS 9.2.2 on a G4 400 AGP graphics (sawtooth). I'm trying to install OS X 10.1.3 and freeze on the restart (happy face mac with a rolling beach ball). I've installed the firmware updates. Any advice would be great.
 
Since you said any advice is welcome and it's not my money - I advise that you get a newer version of osX. Anything pre-Jaguar (10.2) is just not ready for prime-time. You need at least 10.2 to run Safari for example.

this is not my item but it is an indication of what you can get.
 
did u disconnect any/all peripherals first? or try re-booting in safe mode and run a disk util on your drive.
