Installing Safari

A teacher trashed Safari.
The download from Apple seems to only be an updater.

The updater will puts the program in the apps. folder
but the program will not open.

Where can I download the full program or what's wrong?

She is running 10.3.9

I am experiencing a similar problem with an old imac. I downloaded the latest version of Safari, it downloaded, installed and looked like everything was fine. I then tried to open Safari from its icon and I got a message that it would not open. It appears that it may not work on the older version of Mac OS X that the IMac is using.

The older version of Safari 1.1 seems to be gone.

Follow the instructions given by simbalala with the discs that came for that iMac
 
I knew I’d seen this page before but couldn’t find it a few days ago.

Older Versions of Safari

Make sure you read the page carefully. For Safari 2 and above he’s created special, self contained versions of Safari so they probably won’t update with the updater. I’m not completely sure about that though.
