Installing several Machines via network

Hi there,

I will be doing the maintenance of a student classroom with 15 eMacs.
We will have to do a clean installation of OS X every month.
Is there a way to do this without OSX Server's "net install" ,
but still do all the machines at once?

Right now I am using an external Firewire disk and Carbon Copy Cloner,
but it takes too long !!

Hope someone can help.

Well, I'm assuming that you're doing a clean install every month to keep things clean...
At my school all of the machines "clean" themselves as soon as they are rebooted. In otherwords, when you reboot, everything on the system disk is returned to a frozen state and all of the files that were created after the last reboot are deleted.

I'm not sure if this is a feature of OSX [i think this was a feature of os9] or if it's just a really fancy shell script.

personally, I would just write a good shell script to do all of the maintanance over night.

You can try psync (do a search on macosxhints.com) or if you want a GUI use PsyncX (available from VersionTracker.com)
