so i just figured out that i cant type in the integral extension character, | , i got it there cuz i went thru the character list thing and found it bu thats a pain to do for wen i need to use it.

to my knowledge, and according to my keyboard, it is typed by pressing shift+\ but for some reason i get nothing. i have looked around for other shorcuts, shift+alt+7, shift+*, alt+i, etc etc but none of them actually work.

im on a macbook pro, with the basic us keyboard setup. maybe im just being my normal self and doing something silly or missing something, or maybe its a real problem, idk, lol. if there is no way to make it work, maybe i should change to a different keyboard layout?

thnx in advance for ne help

So, are you talking about the vertical bar that can be used to increase the height of a mathematical integral composed of the Top Half Integral and the Bottom Half Integral? Is that what you want? It appears that the Integral Extension is a Unicode character that can be accessed only via the Character Palette or by an application designed to do so such as an equation editor.

eh, lol, yea i guess thats wat it does, i just know it as the symboll that makes or statments in c++ lol, i just got the integral thing from that pallete ur talking abt. ok, well thnx, wish i could just type it ut, but ill use the pallete thing wen i need to.
