internet exploiter flawed? naw, tell me it's not true

just in, internet exlpoiter for windows has some security leaks. :D

ok, so this is hardly news, but some of the things presented in this article do concern me, even if it's not about the mac version.

like -
ON NOV. 27, Microsoft quietly changed the wording of the original bulletin, yet didn't reissue it. The revised bulletin acknowledges the severity of the flaw and adds additional information to resolve the object-caching problem.

so what aren't they telling us about the potential lack of security in the mac os x version? i find this particularly disturbing considering the number of 'secure' sites that require ie or netscape. :(

Well, they've patched all the most recent known security issues in the Mac version. Since it's a completely different codebase there's little reason to expect exploitable flaws in the Windows version to exist on the Mac version.

Whenever someone mentions to me how much they like a Microsoft product - it just makes my skin crawl thinking about the security problems and/or stability problems and/or viruses...

The ONLY Microsoft product I use is Windows (on one PC, all the othes have Linux :D) and every now and then Office - and I still don't feel secure.

And people wonder why I love Macs so much all of a sudden! (and Linux!)

BTW Giaguara,
thanks for the links - I'll be sending those to the next preson that makes my skin crawl (about loving MS or a MS Product - and I got a few in mind already). :)
