internet explorer problem

I am using a G5 mac osx 10.3.5 running panther. I have just started using tiscali broadband and it has been working fine for the past few weeks until today. I was waiting for a page to load but got bored waiting so pushed the back button. At this point the spinning coloured thing appeared and I had to force quit the internet. It hasn't let me on since.

It is the internet explorer on osx that isn't working. (not my connection) because I can use the internet explorer in the classic environment fine. I have tried downloading an upgraded version of the internet explorer (version 5.2.3) in my osx but this still doesn't work. Any ideas how I can fix it?

In you home folder, there should be a folder called Library. Once in there, look for something having to do with IE. If it's not in there, proceed into Preferences and see if it's in there. If you do find the .plist file or folder designated for IE, trash it and try to startup IE.
