HA! HA! HA!
A few days ago, I took the plunge and went to Panther. No problems with the install, repaired permissions and all seemed well...
Except Safari. Took forever to connect, if at all. Pages just hung there.
Went and used IE to get Pacificst from version tracker and even that took forever, but I got it.
Extracted Safari from the Panther disc and reinstalled it. That help a little but my entire Internet access is as slow as molasses.
I'm even getting time outs trying to use software update to intall the security and bluetooth fix (It took forever and a day, but I did get to 10.3.1).
I've restarted everything, repaired permissions again and still it's so s---l----o----w.
I'm running an iBook 600 with max ram on an AirPort with broadband.
I've also connected with my old Clamshell graphite (running 10.2.8 and the connection problem doesn't see to be impacting it, which leads to me to think that something in Panther doesn't like my Internet.
Any ideas? Everything else seems to be working great in 3.1.
