IP Printing + Epson Stylus 1520?

Hello-

I have an old Epson Stylus 1520 (vintage 1999) printer with an Ethernet card that has worked successfully with my dual G5, using the Gimp-Print driver and AppleTalk over an Ethernet network (I have an Etherner router with the G5, DSL modem, an IP printer and the aforementioned 1520 pluuged into it.) Until now. I upgraded to OS 10.4 today.

The problem is this: the printer can't use AppleTalk anymore, because AppleTalk is no longer supported in OS 10.4. So I've tried getting the printer to work with IP Printing, and although all the settings seem correct, it just WILL NOT PRINT. The most infuriating thing is that the computer recognizes the 1520 (I can ping the 1520 in Terminal, and it comes up) but the files are just not getting to the printer.

For what it's worth, I've checked the IP numbers and they are compatible. (As I mentioned, I have another IP-enabled printer running just fine on the same network.)

Please advise.

G.
