iPad "identity"

My wife has an iPad. It uses my Apple-ID for iCloud services and to buy apps. The problem is, when she sends email, it looks like it came from me, except when she remembers to use her Gmail account. iCloud and Gmail are both active.

Also, quite some time ago, I created an "alias" via .Mac/iCloud for her "identity" in email.

Question. Can I change the iPad settings to use that alias instead of the original Apple-ID? If it's possible, will the change affect purchases?

Future Question. If I get a 2nd iPad (I lust after a 3), can I use my original Apple-ID on that and share apps and other purchases with my wife?

You can use different Apple IDs for different purposes on the same iPad.
I use my other half's iTunes store and iTunes accounts (plus for finding my iPad); all the other items from game center to anything else are using my account.
That way, when I send mail, the mails show me as a sender and not Mr. Giaguara.

If you use the same App Store account, you can use the same apps on both/all your devices. Makes the life easier than creating a separate store account for each family member. :)
