iPad won't sync any audio or podcasts with Mac iTunes

I have a new iPad Mini and are setting it up with my iPhone settings. All works great except that it won't sync music and podcasts. When I chose songs and podcasts to sync, the memory line shows that xMb will be used for music.

When doing a sync, the music is not copied to iPad and the blue xMb music line disappears.

I also tried to the "Manually manage music and video" option with no success.

Any ideas?

(I have turned on all options in iOS prefs settings for music and podcasts)
