iPhone and iCal syncing issues

I use Leopard (Mac OS X 10.5.6) and a 1st Generation iPhone (Firmware 2.2.1). When I syn through iTunes8, everything other than the Calendar gets synced. I've just reset my iSync history and chose replace information on iPhone with the iCal information and its completely wiped out every calender that existed on on my iPhone. This is driving me nuts. Somebody please help!!!!
 
Hm. It shouldn't actually use iSync now, should it? It should go directly through iTunes/iCal. If your calendars are wiped now, anyway, you're free to try away...
 
Also, be aware that subscribed calendars and "smart" calendars do not sync to the iPhone -- so if you have calendar subscriptions to, say, some calendars on Apple's site (NCAA calendars, "US Holiday" calendars, etc.), then those will not appear on your iPhone.
 
Thanx for the response. Just noticed that in iTunes in the info tab I cant see any of my various calendars (that I have in iCal) unlike the various groups that I have in my address book. Could this be the problem? How do I fix this?
