I recently upgraded to Snow Leopard and iLife 09. iPhoto 09 HELP will open, but clicking on anything produces a pulldown that says, "Help Viewer cannot open this content." Searching in Help produces a list of topics, but clicking on one of them causes no action at all.
HELP works in other iLife apps in this account and in iPhoto in other accounts, so the problem is specific to iPhoto and my account.
Someone reporting in an Apple forum said he had this problem and the AppleCare tech led him through deletion of several preferences and caches which solved the problem for him. He didn't write down exactly what steps were taken so couldn't advise how to repeat that solution.
Someone else said he had several problems, so deleted the entire Preferences folder and that solved his iPhoto problem.
I deleted the iPhoto and the Help plists but that did no good. I can't find the iPhoto caches.
I'm reluctant to delete the entire Preferences folder, even though I do have plenty of backups, because it seems that even if that solves the iPhoto problem it's going to cost me a bunch of other problems--perhaps minor problems but problems nonetheless.
There doesn't seem to be any point to reinstalling iPhoto since the Help works in other accounts.
Any suggestions?
