I had to reinstall my OS(long story) and everything came back except for IPhoto. I used the reinstall software that came with the computer and found the iLife file. I have since reinstalled iLife twice.....everything else came back fine(iMovie, Rockband, etc.) but not iPhoto. Any ideas?

I am operating on Mac OS X

Thanks

Hm. It's certainly part of the iLife suite that came with the computer. What version are we talking about? "Mac OS X" isn't really a good measure here, since it's been basically around since 1999 (Mac OS X Server 1.0). There's been 10.0, 10.1 etc. and 10.5.6 is the newest available version. There have also been a lot of iLife versions and a lot of different original installation disk sets. (Of course only one for your computer.)

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I have Mac Os X version 10.5.6 and use iLife 08

Thanks for any help.

If you re-run the iLife '08 installer, you should have the option to install just iPhoto.

If it claims that iPhoto is already installed, then you might want to do a search on your hard drive (via Spotlight) for iPhoto -- perhaps it just got accidentally moved somewhere outside the /Applications folder.

Unfortunately, I did just that. It appears that iPhoto is installed...it's listed in my applications list(although the graphic is just a piece of paper and a pencil...not the iPhoto icon). When I click on it, it just blinks as if it is going to open but then nothing happens. When I do a search on the hard drive it finds the application and states that it takes up xxxx.kb(or whatever the exact size it) but I can't get it to run.
Thanks for any help.

Remove that icon from the Applications folder, delete it and try to reinstall iPhoto again.
