iPhoto Library no longer associated with iPhoto

Here's an interesting problem that I couldn't get solved on an otherwise-helpful previous thread. My baby girl was smashing keys on my un-protected laptop, and she managed to rename both my Library and Photos folders from my home folder. I was able to figure this out and rename the folders. However, iPhoto still does not show any of my pictures when I launch it.

Also, I don't know if this is significant, but I (foolishly) launched iPhoto after renaming the folders correctly, but before logging out and logging back in.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure it will fix things, but you may try to hold down the option key when opening iPhoto.
If you do that, iPhoto will give you the choice of creating a new library or opening an existing one. If you point it to where your pictures are now, it should manage to figure everything out by itself.

Note (and I'm not 100% sure about this) that osx, being unix-based, probably is case-sensitive in its treatment of files and folders. If you renamed your Photos folder to photos, iPhoto may be having a problem with that.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, I tried it, and it turns out the correct folder is already associated with iPhoto. All the pictures are in their little sub-sub-sub folders. But it still shows "no photos". Apparently it's no longer able to find the photos it has stored. Any thoughts about next steps?
