Iphoto: lost slideshow function

Needed to do a slideshow and then burn to a DVD but the slideshow function just does not work. Books, cards,prints, all work fine. Any ideas?
 
You might try "time mAchine " and restore iPhoto app. Or reinstall iPhoto from your iLife disk.
