iPhoto on a network drive

I did a search for this but didn't find anything.

I am a "switcher" to the mac world but I have a lot of experience with PCs. Here is what I have. Pentium 166 server running Linux setup as a server for my pictures, music, and my documents. I keep all these files on this computer so I can access them from my other computers such as my mp3 machine hooked up to my tv. (hence the term server, I guess)

Is there a way to make the iPhoto directory point to a directory on a network path. I have OSX 10.2 pointed to my pictures and mp3 directories and it will let me add them to the library in iTunes but I cannot do the same in iPhoto.

Anyone out there care to help a mac "newbie"

Thanks,

I haven't tried this so I may be way off base but what about making a symbolic link in the terminal. if you're wanting to try it open up the terminal and type "man ln" the command you want to use is ln, man is something like a help viewer. Running linux I'm sure you already knew that anyway :D

I did get iPhoto working on a network drive but it is a lot slower than being on the machine so I can live with having the photos there. iphoto librarian is great for these kinds of things.
