iPhoto Pictures are gone!

I recently moved and had my MAC boxed and unplugged for several months.

When I set it up in my new place, I opened iPhoto and discovered that all of my pictures are gone! I checked the original iPhoto folder where they are store and nothing.

What could have happened? Is there any way to retrieve them?

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

Version: Apple PowerMacG4. MAC OS X Panther.

Look in your home folder then go into the Pictures folder. You should see a file called iPhoto Library. If that isn't there, then they are gone (unless you moved this file yourself). If it is there, this file is what contains all of your pictures.

It might be corrupt. If so, ask on this forum how to repair a corrupt iPhoto Library file (if it's even possible). This is really why you need to backup both your iPhoto Library file and your iTunes Library file. If you lose them, you lose everything.
