iphoto quirk?

My iphoto window is stuck!!!!

While arranging windows on my desktop, the iphoto window somehow got moved too high. So high that the menu bar covers the the top of the window, making it impossible to click on the top of the window and drag it back into a more managable area!!

I thought quitting the program, or rebooting my mac would help, but every time I open iphoto, it is exactly the same. I really hope somebody has an answer for this, because I don't want to reinstall iphoto. I can't work with it very well since the right side of the window is off the screen.

upon looking through the preference file I believe you can delete it without harming your pictures, although you may want to back them up first.

if you go to /(your user name)/library/preferences/ and rename or move a file named com.apple.iphoto.plist your problem should be solved. although you will have to set up iPhoto to look how you want it again. Which shouldn't be too much of a problem.

If you're looking to do a little editing in the plist file you'll find this key:

<'key>NSWindow Frame ArchiveWindowFrame<'/key>
<'string>220 145 918 669 0 0 1280 1002 <'/string>

it appears that the string of numbers are the coordinates. the first number is how many pixels off of the left edge of your screen the left side of the iPhoto window is. I believe the second number to be the number of pixels the bottom edge of the iPhoto window is above the bottom of your screen. the other numbers have to do with the actual size of the window.

if you change the second number in the key I listed above to a smaller value, you should be able to pull the title bar of that window down to a level where you can see it.

P.S. I just tried this myself and it did seem to work.
