IPHOTO - Whenever I try to open an event, it only brings up the key photo

So when I try to open an event in my iphoto library, it will only open the photo that is shown when I click on the event (instead of the thumbnails of all the pictures in the event). And to go back to viewing all of my events, I can't just double click on the photo to go back, as usual, I have to hit the "all events" button.

(using iphoto 7.1.4)

Hello thisisbails & welcome to macosx,

Have a look in iPhoto ~> Preferences ~> Events and see that you have "Show Event photos" selected in "Double-Click Event"

It is set as that. I even tried switching it to "Magnifies photo" and switching it back, but that didn't work either. The difference is, when I select "magnifies photo" and double click on the event, it brings up the photo with the black background instead of the grey and when I click on the photo again it goes back to all my events. But with my problem, it doesn't do that.

I've tried that, and I've tried:
-closing iphoto & reopening it
-closing iphoto & reopening it with a different library
-restarting my computer


ALSO, it will let me click back and forth between the photos in the event with the arrows in the top right, but I can't see all the thumbnails for the event at once and the photo names.

I notice the zoom slider is set to maximum in your screenshot?

I never will forget the time I chose to hide certain photos in Events and I was hiding quite a few hundred.

Then later I noticed that the photo count for my events was down on what it should be.

I went into an absolute panic trying to figure out where all those photos had gone, I can tell you!

When I realised what I'd done and that the photos could be displayed again, I quickly disabled the hide function and will never use it again ... well, maybe I will one day.

Hi i am having problem with iphoto
when i open iphoto and i see i event but is black i double
click on event opens and i see the photos but i can not open any off them every time i double click it shows question mark i checked info for all photo is there but can not open or cope and past
