I keep getting a message that reads "Open iPhoto 5 or later to see photos from your iPhoto Library in this list." This happens when I try to attach a picture from my email or when I try to upload a photo to a site like Shutterfly or Snapfish. I used to be able to click on "attach" in an email or "upload" on a website and Finder would come up and let me click on "photos" under the media section and then click on "iPhoto" and choose my photos from iPhoto. I'm not sure what has happened. Can you please advise- many thanks!!

I am running iPhoto '08- do you think you may know why this is happening all of a sudden? Thanks for your help...

Have you run any software updates since the last time you were able to do this? In Mail and web browsers, I don't have a Media Browser option for attachments or uploads. Normally, if I wanted to email a photo, I would open iPhoto, select the photo(s), and click Email on the toolbar. For photo sharing sites, I would use an iPhoto plugin for the site to integrate it and then the uploading is easy and built-in: Shutterfly and Snapfish.

Another way would be to open iPhoto and select a photo you want to upload. Click and drag to pick it up, switch to your browser using the Application Switcher (Command+Tab) or Exposé, and drop the photo directly on the Choose button.
