iPod 40 gig drive

Hello,

My 3G iPod died in a fall. After disecting it, I was wondering if there was a way to get the drive to hook up to my G5 to test it out. It didn't work when I tried through the iPod cable.

Any thoughts?

You take it out of the iPod and then goto CompUSA and get a $10 part that will plugin to the drive because all that drive is a Laptop drive.
Then open your G5 as long as it's not a iMac then power on and get the data back. Because it will still show up as a iPod on the screen.

If you have a iMac then you will need something like this to put the drive in.
It called OWC Mercury Express 2.5" Portable Aluminum FireWire 400+USB 2.0/1.1 Combo Enclosure Kit and it run about $35.
