Does anyone have any experience using an ipod with an older powerbook such as the wallstreet which requires a USB PCMCIA card to run USB devices. I have heard that it does not operate properly with PC cards. I am interested in getting one and want to be sure it works. Any model will do- they should all work (or not work) the same. Any first hand experienced help will due - I already know what the manuals say.

I have the original iPod. It works with my old Wallstreet 266 with OS9 and OSX jaguar. I got a PCMIA firewire card for it. On OS9 I used the drivers that came with the card. On OSX it worked without the drivers. I could capture video with it also. It was to slow under jaguar but OK under OS9. I would caputre video with OS9 and edit in OSX. If you can find a firewire card they should be cheap. Mine was a fire wire to go. The company is out of business but the card works OK. I still have mine but do not use anymore since I bought a 17in powerbook.
