ipod doesn't fully charge

This has happened to me twice already. I plug my ipod into the DC adapter to charge its battery overnight. I wake up and check in the morning to see that initially the ipod says it is fully charged. But when i immediately started using it, the battery would be down one notch to 3 out of 4. If anyone can give me some answers, it would be appreciated!
 
i don't think so, i just bought it two weeks ago. the battery doesn't wear down fast, it just doesn't charge all the way, or the battery indicator is lying to me.
