iPod making me mad...

everytime i plug my iPod into my powerbook, iPod scans the hard drive. how do i get it to stop, or just not get iPod to do it?!

Do you have the iPod set up for auto sync, or manual? I hate auto sync, always use manual (plus, ypu can keep fewer tracks on your hard drive).
