iPod Nano - not playing full song

There are a number of songs on my iPod that won't play through from the iPod - however they play fine through iTunes.

I've tried:
Restarting the iPod
Updating iTunes
Restoring the iPod and re-syncing it several times...

Any thing else that could be done? Should I just take it to an iStore?

Other variables to consider is that I don't have m4a's - all the files are mp3's
