iPod Photo Edition

I think Apple is likely to release a larger but thinner iPod like device for Photo browsing. As many rumors said the new iPhoto is ready but we didn't see it to release together with iSync and iCal, is that mean the new iPhoto will support the new digital device for browsing photos?

Let's think about the original photo album, it would be cool if a digital device which can store up to millions of photos with a high resolution, perhaps, 1024x768 (8" LCD)?

iPhoto to go... showing your friends your entire photo collection with the new iPod Photo Edition.

Moreover, it can read smart media/compact flash for instant adding photos from digital camera... and sync with your iPhoto library! Just like what iTunes and iPod!

Do you really think Apple would spend the extra money developing something like this, when people could bring (assuming they had one) their iBook or PowerBook and show others their photos? It's a possibility, however I don't think they would use an 8-inch screen. I'd believe an 8-inch LCD screen would increase the cost of the iPod from anywhere between $200 to $300. If a revamped iPod does debut, I would believe it would include a color screen the same size, and the software would be updated to display small pictures. This would be great for displaying covert art.

I don't get why everybody thinks it's going to be an iPod + photo's.
Who really wants to use a small gadget to show photos, especially such an expensive gadget. And then you would have to carry around 2 devices which are very similar...
The function of that device seems to be quite limited. Apple always has much more outspoken ideas.
Doesn't anybody think it could be a camera (that may also function as a hard drive from which you can show pictures).
Why would apple modify one product that is already very popular the way it is? It seems more logical that they would make something similar but in a different field.
just my 2¢…

What I think would be cool would be a Bluetooth camera and a Bluetooth iPod which would automatically slurp the images from the camera as the camera's storage started to reach its limits. *That* would be worth some money to me.

Failing that, some means of going from a FW camera to the iPod via cable but without a computer with which to do all this.
