iPod Problem

Has anyone had their iPod make a spinning noise whenever they start it up, recharge it, or play a song? My iPod never made this spinning noise when I had it for the first 3 months or so. Now I hear this loud spinning noise. Is my iPod broken, or is this normal?

how loud is it? the spinning is most likely the hard drive spinning in there. are you sure the spinning wasn't going on before and you just didn't notice it?
are there any indications that there is something wrong with it?

Two ways you SHOULD be able to hear your iPod:
1)It's sitting on your desk, in a quiet room.
2)You stick it right up to your head to hear it.

That's what I consider normal, for me. The iPod is the most quiet hard disk I've ever heard... or, rather, not heard....... I didn't even notice the sound for the first few months, myself. So it's quite possible you just didn't notice.

Too much loud music, raggra fragga young un's! ;)

alamunky, mine did that. The HD was going bad. :( But it was under warranty so i got it replaced. :)

oh i see. how long is the warranty or how much is it to get it fixed? i tink i've had my ipod for about 8 months. also, the battery is very unstable. i'll fully recharge it but it will say there is no battery. sometimes it does this sometimes it doesnt.

Yea the battery icon is flakey on most iPods i think. Software not hardware related, i believe. The warranty is a year long and you can take it to any apple specialist (comp usa, apple store) or call apple and they should fix (or replace) it for free. Remember to back up all your stuff first.
