so in other words.. I'm screwed? That doesn't make sense to me.. I don't think everyone using an Ipod with a Mac has Mac OSX 10.1.5 or higher.

No you are not screwed - you just need to read things more carefully: go to the link i provided and download and install the update.

*10.1.5 is a much more stable build than 10.1.3
