i have just plugged my ipod into my laptop and it wiped all my songs. i have my ipod on manual sync but im not sure what happened. is there anyway i can recover my files or are they gone forever?????????????

All the songs are gone from your laptop, iPod, or both? Their are third party solutions to recover erased data, in the 50-100 dollar range.

One good solution is iPod Data Recovery. It's shareware, the full version is about $60.

Also it's Windows only.
