iPod revision -> iPod 2 wishlist

The thread killer
I was curious if anyone knows anything about the iPod and if it will ever be revised?

Here is a wish list in order of importance to me.

On my wish list are:

1. Color Screen
2. larger screen
3. mpeg4 audio/video playback
4. Quicktime Picture viewer
5. Quicktime movie playback
6. An area for news ala avantgo like push technology
7. bluetooth headphones :p
8.) easier navigation buttons (it's good but could be better)

What I don't care for is making this a PDA. That is what PalmOS is for. I think this would be a great "Pod" to carry audio and video. I don't have a kid but i could see many mommies and daddies out there taking home movies of little baby johnny or mikey to show to their friends. Myself I could take my picture collection of friends and have it with me everywhere. It would be nice to see home movies i've made and watch them on the train if I am bored.

I picture this as an electronic wallet as such to carry home movies and pictures and stuff. Having blue tooth will allow me to link to headphones and zap photos over from my digital camera or dial calls to my cell phone and communicate through the headphones maybe... though... that would require some way for the headphones to be shared by two devices which i am not sure is possible using bluetooth.

This could also transform the DivX community into a MPEG-4 community :)

Or someone would create a DivX plugin for the iPod II.

aka QuickTime Player. Look on http://macnews.net.tc for more info on iPod II.

The only thing I want is for apple to openup the iPod to 3rd party developers (under extras).

Everything else will take care of itself... :D

I am easy to please... All I want is MPEG-4 and/or Ogg support. All other additions are welcome, but not necessary in my book.

I want easy access to my files! I know, like a good consumer, I should by a new computer and waste 20GB of hard drive space to "sync" with my iPod. That is the only way to have the MP3 format readily available. It's a pain in the butt.

The songs can be just as easily pirated by sticking them on the iPod as an external hard drive file, or any media for that matter.

Sorry about the rant. I have an MP3 player that I can boot my computer from and store arbitrary files, but Apple has spent God knows how much money and man-hours to make certain the playable MP3 storage is a one way track.

A Thank You to the shareware folks for making utilities that crack the intentional barriers.

I would like simple calender edits. Instead of showing a blank screen when selecting an empty date have two date/time edit fields (like the clock setting), and a scrollable field of appointment types (configurable from the computer). That would be enough to quickly enter in a new appointment.

The clock should always be visible.

... the itunes playlist control settings to be honored on the iPod. The iPod has a global setting for shuffle. It is difficult to change when a playlist becomes active. Some playlists are designed and best heard in order.
