ipod shuffle

I have a mac 10.4.11....just quite recently, went to hook up my ipod shuffle to the usb port....the mac will not recognize the ipod shuffle at all!!!!....before, i had no problems...is it b/c there are no songs on the ipod shuffle??...because last time i had the ipod shuffle in the comp, i had deleted all the songs off my ipod shuffle??...

Take the shuffle off the Mac then reset your Pram letting it "bong" at least three times. Then reconnect the iPod. Also you might would want to reset the 2nd Gen Shuffle by turning if off for 5 seconds and turning it back on.
