iPOD won't mount???

Have been using iPod for months and no problems. Recently I tried connecting it and nothing. I've reset it, unplugged it, removed prefs, followed tech document on resetting by holding doen menu and play/pause for 10 sec. Also tried holding down menu and play/pause then holding down across the middle to get the utility screen. Unplugged it, switched cords,nothing!! It receives power and I can recharge it with no problem but it will not display firewire symbol that let's me know it's handshaking properly. ANy help would be greatly appreciated!

When you open iTunes, does iTunes recognize the device? Try that. Hope I helped.

nope, nothing.

Maybe you have that issue where the solder joints inside break. Take it to your local Apple Authorized Reseller, they should replace it free of charge.

Try another cable before returning the unit
