iPod Won't Mount

I have a 5th gen video iPod and it refuses to mount. I've restarted both the iPod and my PowerMac and checked the cables (it beeps when I plug it in) but it will not mount.

Any ideas?

what version of itunes do you have?

iTunes 7. I ended up getting it to work after rebooting the iPod about 5 times.

i'd also use itunes to reset the ipod to factory defaults just incase the ipod os is bad.
