Ok. I understand that Steve must innovate, but that doesn't mean that they have to create a application 'heavily based on' some one else's program. The least they could have done is asked Konfabulator wether they can use it, I know that i wont be using Dashboard, I've used Konfabulator and un-installed it in about a 2 weeks, just didn't do what i wanted it to. It was too separated from the OS, and i don't think Dashboard will make this any better. I personally thing that Apple has gone too far with this, Tiger doesn't look that good really, too flashy, no noticeable constancy, the GUI although still Brushed Metal, is curved! What's the point! If any thing i would like custom themes that enhance the OS, and with these 'widgets' being all different colors, it ruins it. I mean if i want to do basic math, ill open calculator.app, so there is no need for one on my desktop.
I can understand the release date, but really I see it as a ploy to see what XP long horn will look like. The displays do look wonderful, but 1K over a G5! thats stupid! unless they are waiting for the other displays are depleted and replacing them with the new ones, that would make much more sense. What is the point of building graphics features into the OS (Core) when they require a faster machine to run on? (even though I've never been able to get QE working properly), Before releasing this Apple should make sure that the majority of the user base can use it, or you'll have another G3 scandal on your hands.
All I'm saying is that Tiger doesn't seem to have any 'killer features' nor does it look like it will be slicker or faster. The only things i can see myself using is the Safari RSS, but even then.

PS: apologies if this makes no sense, not feeling too good today.
