is it possible to use my video camera with iMovie2 on OSX

I have a 8mm video camera that I would like to use with iMovie2. I probably need something like 'My Video' from Eskage (www.eskapelabs.com) in order to hook the video camer up to the mac, but I'm unsure that iMovie2 would be able to read from it. Is anyone using iMovie2 w/o a digital video camera?

Check out the iMovie section at the Apple website. Go to the page about shooting your video. The sidebar on the right lists the equipment compatible with iMovie2. At the bottom of that list is the converters that work with iMovie. Good-luck! I love iMovie
