Is there a way to download a quicktime streaming movie as an actual movie file instead of just a link to connect you to a streaming server?
 
Nope. I have Quicktime Pro, but I couldn't find a way to do that. I went to "save", "save as..." and "export" and didn't find how. I was gonna go to save and select "Make movie self-contained", but it was grayed out.:confused:
 
I think it works unless I am misunderstanding your question. Once the video begins click on the picture and drag it to your desktop. Then open open up the file on your desktop and save as self contained movie.
 
I believe some are set up to prevent you from downloading them, so you have to return to the site to view them. However, look in the cache of your internet browser and they are often there without a recognizable name. That is if I'm interpreting your question correctly.
 
maybe if you tell us the URL we can try to see if some of us can save that QT movie:)
