ISO external dvd - rw

Sure, most any FireWire DVD-RW should work with a Mac, best to use Toast 6 Platinum, so it's more likely that DVD+RW can be supported. (The MacOS X by itself will not support DVD+RW format, at least until Panther). DVD-RW should be supported with most any setup, again Toast 6 is the way to go for best possible results. Don't get a USB 2 drive, unless you have NEW Mac hardware that supports that, or the drive also has a FireWire connection (better performance, anyway)

Right... Firewire is better than USB 2 because a) it's inherently faster and b) it doesn't need any processor power to run.
