The iSync beta worked just fine with my Palm m100 but I have had all kinds of problems tonight after "upgrading" to iSync v1.0! To begin with, it would just shut my Palm off while trying to sync with it. Eventually, I wiped my Palm clean, created a new user ID for it and rechecked that everything was right with HotSync Manager. Then, finally, iSync synced everything with it. My addresses and calendar items and to-dos transferred to my Palm. But several address entries, for some reason, had their email addresses duplicated, with the same email address showing up as "home" and "work" when an email address had originally only been entered as one or the other. So I manually went through and fixed all those in both Address Book on my iMac and on the Palm too. Then I did a test in which I created new address and calendar entries on both my Mac and the Palm. iSync now goes through its little routine, acting as if it is syncing addresses and calendar items but IT NO LONGER WILL SYNC MY ADDRESSES! GRRRR!
This is crap, Apple. Why did your beta work but now your "finished product" doesn't? I swithed to the Mac because it was just supposed to work. I'm become somewhat disillusioned with Apple.
OK, I finally fixed my problem with iSync v1.0. It boils down to this: before you install this app, you need to uninstall the iSync beta. You can get the uninstaller utility from Apple at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=120160
If you're having problems like I did, run the uninstaller then reinstall iSync v1.0 then restart your Mac. Hopefully that will help. Everything works great now for me. Thank heavens for the discussion threads on Apple's support site. If Apple doesn't tell us these things, we have to depend on each other to!
