iSync, iCal & Palm Desktop.... ahhh!

Barking at the moon.
Okay I have an urgent question for you Palm Pilot users out there: When you go to sync your Palm with your Mac, does it Sync with iCal or the Palm Desktop?

I really like iCal and have been using that, but I wanted to take it with me so I purchased a Palm Zire ... but I can't quite figure out how all this works.

Mine syncs properly with iCal, and not palm desktop. Do you have BOTH the palm desktop calendar AND address book conduits disabled (through the palm desktop HotSync Manager)? In my experience, I had to disable both palm conduits before the iSync conduit would work, although this may have been fixed with the 1.0 release. When you sync, does iSync come up at all?

Mine sync the iCal and addressbook with the palm, but i would like it to be able to sync with the palm desktop aswell so the palm worked like a bridge between the two apps.
Or if not, apple should add some poweruser features to iCal. Really misses palm desktops ability to add vcard people to events (not just their mailaddresses, but their full info) so you easily could see phone numbers and stuff to the persons related to the event.

I think this is a limitation of the HotSyc software. There is a conduit for FirstClass (which is used at my school). After I installed it to sync my firstclass info with my palm I realized that Palm desktop was no longer syncing. I looked into it and sure enough that's the way it was supposed to work.

I too wish there was a way you could sync all of them - Palm Desktop, Address Book, and iCal if needed.

It's too bad iSync disables the conduits. Isn't there some way to have more than one conduit for each Palm function? Specifically I want to use the Palm Desktop addresses and OS X Address Book.
