It happened again

I'd say it's done to get rumors out about new iPhones.

Otherwise they'd fire the people who lost those phones. Unless of course in the contract and NDA for testing it there was nothing about taking the device out of the building or showing in the public. Which hardly is the case since the NDAs for way simpler things go on for pages...
